In Wyoming, our statute Wyo. Stat. § 33-48-101 h iii reads:

“Unarmed combat” means any form of competition in which a blow is usually struck which may reasonably be expected to inflict injury”

It leaves it pretty wide open to interpretation which we appreciate.

    Hope this helps

In Wyoming, our rules are very similar except, we only allow ten yards of gauze. That usually isn’t a problem, because most fighters wouldn’t want more than 10 yards of gauze anyways.
It’s the finer points of hand wrapping that should be checked. We also require a finger width between the point of the knuckle and the edge of the tape on the back of the hand. That prevents tape build up across the knuckles. We also only allow one pass of tape between the fingers.
This is all done under the monitoring of our inspectors and that allows us to enforce the rules.

We copied our rules from Colorado and I know they have similar standards.

    Hope this helps,

    In Wyoming,
    Judges $100
    Referee $150
    Travel:
    25-50 miles $50
    50-150 miles $100
    150+ miles $150
We are a large State, so we put a cap on travel to reduce the burden on the Promoter.
